In Hollywood, we always have our eye on the next big blockbuster, but every now and then, we also like to indulge a little nostalgia. If you’re feeling wistful these sultry days of summer, we encourage you to check out the LA Conservancy’s Last Remaining Seats series, which brings you the classics of Hollywood cinema select Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout June. Here’s the lineup: Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) at the State Theatre, Saturday, June 2, 8 P.M.; Kiss of the Spider Woman (1985) at the Million Dollar Theatre, Saturday, June 9, 8 P.M.; In the Heat of the Night (1967) at the Theatre at Ace Hotel, Wednesday, June 13, 8 P.M.; Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) at the Los Angeles Theatre, Saturday, June 16, 2 P.M.; The Birds (1963) at the Los Angeles Theatre, Saturday, June 16, 8 P.M.; Steamboat Bill, Jr. (1928) at the Orpheum Theatre, Wednesday, June 20, 8 P.M.; and The Joy Luck Club (1993) at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse, San Gabriel, Saturday, June 23, 6 P.M. (Note that the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse is the only theater not located in downtown L.A.)
